Whale of a Time
Whenever I visit the city of Victoria, located on Vancouver Island in Western Canada, one of my first priorities is to soak up with wildlife and nature that exists in the area.
While visiting there last week, I was fortunate to see a large pod of killer whales, on the ferry ride from Vancouver to Victoria. I'd estimate there was 25-30 whales in total.
Even though I grew up in the area, and have seen the whales countless times, I still get really excited each time I see killer whales. The way they play, jump, and cruise the waters, is a thrill that I can never get enough of.
There's an area between Vancouver and Victoria called the Gulf Islands, a common area for seeing whales.
If you aren't lucky enough to see any whales during your ferry rides, there are many whale watching tour companies in Victoria, which will take you on a tour.
