PETS is a non-profit animal rescue organisation that pro-actively focuses on disadvantaged animals in the townships and poor communities.

They provide daily meals for these animals as well as assist with their veterinary needs, including sterilisation. Abandoned, unwanted and abused animals in such areas are rescued and housed until they manage to find them new and loving homes.

Recently, Athol, our Financial Manager, received an email from PETS desperately seeking extra help. It seems their Christmas was a tough one with a staggering amount of dogs and cats being dumped. Their shelters are full (with kenneling fees amounting to over R5,000), the foster moms are overcrowded and their vets bills have sky-rocketed to over R20,000.

Athol informed Stephan Ekbergh of their situation and without any hesitation the decision was made to donate a very generous R5,000 to PETS in the name of Travelstart.
