I am not sure if an official listing of the most visited city in the world exists, but Paris seems to be the usual consensus. Paris is quite often referred to as the world's most visited city. 

Many of us will think of the Eiffel Tower as Paris' most famous landmark, yet surveys show that it is actually not the most visited tourist attraction in city. That would be Disneyland Paris, which in 2008 received over 15 million visitors. The Louvre is also one of Paris' most popular tourist attractions, as is the Avenue des Champs-Élysées. 

There's no time of year that stands out in Paris – it's a year round tourist destination. I have friends who love it in the summer, and some who enjoy it in the winter. Go for the culture, food, architecture, sport, history, or just to visit a friend. 

Besides Paris, what other cities do you think may be the most visited in the world? I might think others may include New York, London, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Beijing, and Tokyo. I am certainly missing some of the world's busiest cities. France, as well as neighboring Spain, are often cited as the two most visited countries in Europe.
