Food & Wine Festival in Harare

A horse racing track outside the Zimbabwean capi.jpgtal of Harare hosted this weekend a food and wine festival. Only a year ago, when the shelves in the supermarkets were empty, a festival of this kind would never have been impossible. Therefore, it was particularly satisfying to buy a ticket to this event.

For fifteen US dollars I bought a ticket to the food and wine festival held at a horse racing track in Harare this weekend. When the doors opened at noon, me and my friend, were ready to taste and drink our way through the day. On stage two singers sang laid back evergreens.

We ate spi.jpgcy bites of sausage from the butcher, Belgian pralines from the local manufacturer Veldemeers, a superb selection of cheeses, crackers and even delicious sushi. Red wine, white wine, rosé and champagne in different price ranges were poured generously into the glass we were handed when entering the festival.

All in all, a splendid food- and wine festival!
