10% of the world's flowering species, right here in South Africa

Plantlife When you mention flowers I immediately think of Namakwaland. From early august until the end of october you are able to admire a large variety of wild flowers that stretches as far as the eye can see.

The other day I heard that South Africa have 10% of the world’s flowering species. It is the only country in the world with an entire plant kingdom inside its borders.

The people that know say there are five main habitat types in the country they are: forest, fynbos, grassland, Karoo, and savannah.
